Day three of my crafty spring break, I need to reserve some time tomorrow to clean up around the house but it’s so hard when there are creative projects on my mind.
Today I’d like to share more colorful decorations for the Chevron Elephant Baby Shower. At the shower we are going to serve delicious cupcakes from Trophy and what a great opportunity to make some cupcake toppers to decorate. The pregnant momma loves Trophy cupcakes and has requested the Vanilla Vanilla and Raspberry Coconut Macaroons cupcakes for the shower. Every week she goes to Trophy for a treat with her son and they enjoy a sweet treat. She’s probably tried all of the flavors on their menu and these are some of her favorites. It’s such a great idea to serve these beautiful cupcakes at the shower. Here are photos of the cupcakes in case you don’t click through to Trophy, warning it’s very dangerous to go to their site if you have a sweet tooth.
We are also going to serve Top Pot sprinkle doughnuts it’s going to be a very sweet affair! Thanks to Jim & Deanna for getting all the sweet bites for the shower, it’s so very thoughtful of you! Tara, Michelle and I really appreciated all your help with the food.
Cupcake toppers are fun & easy to create. I love the added color & festiveness they give to the cupcakes. For these toppers I wanted to use colors for the paper & designs to compliment the cupcakes Tara selected.
With the colorful pink frosting above, I designed three versions (with the Silhouette software) and then cut them out with my circle punch. I printed and then punched out all of the circles arranging all of the papers on the table.
I used three different sized punches for these toppers: 2 inches for the inner circle, 2.25 inches for the red circle and 2.50 for the outer scalloped circle.
Grab your glue gun and add a dab to attach the little wooden dowel in between the outside layer and the red layer.
Here’s the finished products. I am starting to grow quite fond of this trio of colors. Teal blue looks so great with the pink & red.
I used these same designs for the water bottle labels. I added the circles to the chevron paper and then printed out 8.5×11 sheets. I was able to get 4 labels per sheet.
Peel off the labels that came on the water bottles and then tape the custom made label to the bottle.
I created one new design because I couldn’t use the blue chevron pattern from the cupcakes on top of the red chevron background. Took the three little hearts from the momma elephants trunk and grouped 3 of them together.
Making labels is a quick project and adds a lot of fun personalization for a shower or party.
Next up I am excited to share a few handmade felt decorations for the shower. I hope that you’ll like them as much as I do! Any guesses at what the felt creations might be? Let me know…..
