Fun at the patch layout

Fun at the Patch (3)

Tonight I’d like to share a fall layout with photos from one year ago.  We have a fun tradition to visit the patch with another family.  It first started when the boys were just 6 months old and now we’ve been going ever since.  Today we went once again (our 5th year!) and so I thought it would be fitting to share this layout.  I do have to say that this year it was not dry and we got very, very wet.  The rain was wonderful though, the boys all had a great time and even baby Gwen didn’t mind getting wet.    After looking at how dry and nice it was last year I see how lucky we were on this day!

I love this American Crafts Halloween paper that I picked up on clearance a while back at Paper Zone.  The only problem is that I had all big patterns.  I didn’t have any small patterns and I really needed one for the layout.  A purple polka dot paper was what I was searching for but I couldn’t find any so I settled for cutting out the patterned pumpkins from the paper to give it some variety.  Since finishing this layout I’ve found a digital pack (Lori Whitlock) online that I think will be just right for next time.

I love that this layout offers the use of 9 photos and when they are in a block like this they make quite the statement.  I added a orange stich around the outside of the papers and see I need to work with my tension (see the corner) next time I sew.  My sewing machine had to go in for service and I’ve just gotten it back and I am determined to figure out how to use it better.

The arrows are from a Pebbles pack of accents, love that they are the same company so the colors from the two lines match.  I picked up a cute remarks sticker pack from this collection too.  Now that I have some smaller patterns I’d like to try a few more layouts with the rest of this paper.

I love that both A & A have on their purple clothes that match this paper so well!
