I’d like to share a few scrapbook layouts that I recently completed. I used a sketch support sketch for these three layouts. I really like the idea of using a sketch three to four times at once since it gets quicker each time you do it. I did two of these at the same time and then the third was just a coincidence. I am going to actively do this more often because it sure helps speed up the planning proocess and completing the layout.
For Fall/Thanksgiving layouts I like to try and use similar paper when possible. So when getting pumpkin patch paper I got enough to do a thanksgiving layout too. It’s a great way to make sure you use all the elements with embellishments. Also a perfect use for papers that are double sided to so can use all patterns in the line.

I had some issues with my camera this night and so the photos in this layout came out very dark when printed (however this photo makes them look even darker & since then I have a new camera). I decided to use the orange to mat because it helped lighten them up. I always do a Thanksgiving layout so it wasn’t an option to not do one even thought the photos aren’t as I would have hoped. The top left & middle are two photos that are pieced together to show more of the guests sitting at the table.

For the two fall layouts I didn’t change much between them. But for this third layout I did expand the photo mat considerably because I wanted to use two very large photos. This also meant I couldn’t put the journaling block on the side so I moved it to the top. However making these updates leaves a big empty space at the top, something is off but I didn’t want to add anymore patterns or elements to the top and decided to leave it as is.

All of these are based on this sketch by Allison Davis.
I like this sketch because all the photos are grouped in a box together. It allows for you to use many photos. For the wedding layout I used 12 photos and two of them are 6×6. When you have lots of photos from an important event it’s critical to find a layout that will support the photos to tell the story.
For the third layout I couldn’t decide if I like it better with the black heart embellishments or without. What do you think?
