Recently I’ve ordered a few page kits from Scrapbook Generation and wanted to share one that I’ve completed.
This is the Girl Crazy Page Kit from a few months back. It’s made with the lovely Pebbles Fresh Goods Collection. I love the colors in this kit and that such large pieces of pattern paper are used, it crates a nice backdrop for photos from our trip to the San Juan Islands.
Page kits are a great way to keep up with your layouts because everything that you need comes in the kit so they are very FAST to complete. The only thing you need to do is select the photos, edit/resize to fit sizes in the layout.
Do you have a huge list of layouts on your list? and you’d like to get caught up? I recommend you try this shortcut for some of your layouts. Also my good friend, Tara, swears by page kits and pretty much uses them exclusively these days and is very caught up with her scrapbooks. On the Scrapbook Generation website you can see all the different themes/versions they offer. The best part is if you sign up they automatically come each month.
For this sketch there are there are 3 4×6’s, one 4×4 (top middle) and then the far right called for a 4×6 too. I love when there’s room for so many large photos.
I decided to change the far right from a 4×6 to 6 smaller photos (a few 2×2’s and 2×3’s) so that I could get a few more photos in this layout. With Allison Davis’ sketches she always mentions that you can change the photo block to make it fit the photos you’d like to share.
After completing the layout, I had just a few leftover pieces and made a simple spring card that could be used for for any occasion (spring, Mother’s day, simple note to a friend). I was inspired by the MCM Sketch #83 at Scrapbook Steals. Since I only had a few small scraps left I didn’t follow the sketch fully.
For this beautiful colorful spring/summer paper I think simple is best to let the patterns shine. For the final touch, I added some leftover ribbon from the birthday pennant banner that is the perfect color for this card and the inked the edges.
To respond to Shawna’s question of “what are you doing with all cards you’ve been making?” I need to start mailing them to my friends & family. If your address is in my outlook then there’s a good chance you could get one. :)
